In Memory of Christopher Holmes
MDU Remembers Grant Recipient January, 17, 2011
The Music Drives Us Foundation recently received an email from Captain Scott A. Langlands, whose younger brother Christopher passed away unexpectedly at 21 years of age on January, 17, 2011.
Captain Langlands wrote:
My brother Christopher John Holmes of Foxboro was very passionate about music. He graduated in 2007 from Foxboro High School (a beneficiary of a Music Drives Us Foundation grant). He was very active in the high school band and composed a song played by the band his senior year. He also composed and performed a song for my wedding in 2008. Until his untimely death, he continued to write poems for music lyrics and compose classical music. He had ambitions of being a music teacher.
Within the last month, I have returned home from a second tour with the Army National Guard. I never expected to have to bury my youngest brother. It is my desire to honor his memory and passion for music by organizing donations to Music Drives Us in his name.

Scott and his family invite you to make a donation in Christopher’s name to the Music Drives Us Foundation. Together we will keep his passion for music alive by bringing the joy of music to people of all ages throughout New England. Music had a profound affect on Christopher and Music Drives Us is honored to be able to bring access to music to others who would not otherwise have it and to do so in Christopher’s name. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to Christopher’s family and friends for their great loss.
