Music Drives Us is raffling off a hand-made, custom guitar built and donated by master luthier, Scott Dixon. This unique guitar is valued at $1000! Chances are only $1 each, and can be purchased at our online guitar raffle page until noon Eastern Time on Sept 30th. Additional tickets may be purchased at the Franktoberfest on October 1, 2011.

Guitar Description

Master luthier, Scott Dixon. is pleased to present this special custom cutaway guitar to the Music Drives Us Foundation. He has incorporated several custom solid wood details into the construction of the guitar.

The body and sides are made of ribbon striped sapele that has a rich, bold color and figure with a beautiful, solid spruce top. The binding of the body and fingerboard have been accented with highly figured curly maple that shimmers in the light. This same curly maple has been extended to the back and side wedge shaped inlay. All of the dot positions, 12th fret marker and rosette are complimented in abalone. A cocobolo wood veneer has also been applied to the front and back of the headstock that adds to richness of the overall guitar. In contrast with the dark headstock veneer is a curly maple truss rod cover.

This guitar is brought to life with a Fishman saddle pickup, which provides great response whether it is played finger-style or strumming. Lastly, the guitar is packaged in a form fitting, plush lined, alligator textured, hard shell case.

Also included is a tuner, two set of strings from GHS and Kerly Music Strings, a string winder, pikcards and a copy of the book Acoustic Guitar Building Basics.
