Presented by Highland Street Foundation and produced by the Boch Center, ArtWeek is an award-winning, 10-day innovative festival featuring hundreds of unique and creative experiences that are hands-on, offering new ways to experience art and culture. ArtWeek was born in Boston in 2013 and expanded its footprint across the Commonwealth in 2017. Also in 2017, ArtWeek announced the Mass Cultural Council and the Massachusetts Office of Travel & Tourism joined ArtWeek as Lead Champions in an unique opportunity to shine a spotlight on the state’s creative economy. ArtWeek also secured a network of more than 70 statewide, regional, and local collaborators to help promote the festival.

Music Drives Us is excited to be joining forces with ArtWeek for another year! We expanded our partnership to provide grants for events during the 2019 festival (April 26 – May 5). FORTY recipients have been selected to receive a $250 performance grant to support the presentation of their event during ArtWeek.

These events were submitted before the February 22 deadline and met the following criteria to be considered for a Music Drives Us award: the event must be accepted by ArtWeek as an official event, it must be free, and it must be music and learning-based. In honor of ArtWeek’s statewide expansion this year, events from across the Commonwealth are eligible. Learn more here.

What is ArtWeek?
Celebrated annually, ArtWeek Boston is affordable fun for anyone with a creative sense of adventure. It is a ten-day award-winning festival featuring unique and unexpected experiences that are participatory, interactive, or offer behind-the-scenes access to artists or the creative process. Each ArtWeek event is a one-of-a-kind celebration that people won’t want to miss (especially since many are FREE, although some range in price up to $50). Since Fall 2013, ArtWeek has featured nearly 800 events involving more than 750 organizations and partners!

Then stay around, if you wish, to hear the chorus rehearse for its upcoming May 4 performance of "Abraham Lincoln Walks at Midnight" and songs of George Gershwin.   This is a free event, but to attend you must register by Sunday, April 28.
