Please tell us a little bit about your background in art? Art school? Mediums used?
I am a Boston-based artist. I studied photography and studio art at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA and Stonehill College in Easton, MA. I am also currently applying to graduate school to continuing my training in painting. The mediums that I focus in are photography and painting. Within the past few years I have fallen in love with painting and the process that comes with it. Lately, I have been mainly focusing on growing more as a painter.
When did you get interested in art?
I have been interested in art for as long as I can remember. As a child I remember my mom buying me my first Polaroid camera and I was so fascinated with how the photo was instantly right in front of me. I took that camera everywhere and took photos of the most mundane things. From then on I have had a deep passion for all art. I love to be creative in all aspects of my life. Art allows me to be free and truly express myself.
What is your favorite art piece that you created?
My favorite art piece that I have created to date is a landscape painting that I made. It is very simple showing a field and vast skies but there is so much emotion and feeling in it.
What inspires your creativity? Who are your influences?
I am constantly inspired by nature and the environments around me. I find painting a meditative and spiritual process that is enhanced when painting in plain air. In my artwork I try to immerse the viewer in an atmosphere, bringing them into the painting and connecting them with nature. Creating an intimate connection with nature and the earth is healthy for the soul. Through my work I strive to convey the importance of protecting and preserving our planet.
I am greatly influenced by so many of the legendary painters throughout history but some of my favorites are George Inness, Chaim Soutine, Egon Schiele, Paul Cezanne, Thomas Cole, Andrew Wyeth, Vincent Van Gogh, and Edvard Munch.

About the Guitar
What is your inspiration for your guitar design?
My inspiration for the guitar design is nature and the world around me. I enjoy bringing attention to nature and simple landscapes that some people might overlook. There is beauty all around us and in everything if you are just present and aware.
Why did you want to be a part of this public art project?
I wanted to be a part of this public art project because I truly support the work that Music Drive Us is doing within communities. I think having music and art in schools is so important and allows kids to have a creative outlet in school. For myself, having art in school helped develop my passion and is part of why I am an artist today. I wanted to be a part of this project to give back to kids by giving them the gift of art.
What does music mean to you?
I think music is so powerful. It's amazing to me how music has the ability to connect people on so many different levels. Music has the power to heal and bring people together. Music is also very relatable. You connect to songs through similar experiences, allowing you to feel the same emotions that the artist is conveying. Because of this music provides a sense of belonging and feeling that you are not alone.
